Novak Djokovic<\/a> will compete in the Paris Olympics<\/a>, the Serbian Olympic Committee have confirmed.<\/p>\n

The 24-time grand slam winner recently underwent surgery on his right knee after withdrawing from Roland-Garros<\/a> ahead of the quarter-finals earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Djokovic, who said the surgery "went well", will join other major stars such as Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz who will return to the Paris venue for next month's Games.<\/p>\n

It's unclear if Djokovic will be ready to play at Wimbledon, which begins on July 1.<\/p>\n

The news comes as two of tennis' biggest stars on the WTA Tour announced they would skip the Paris Games.<\/p>\n

World No.3 Aryna Sabalenka told reporters she would be skipping the Olympics, citing WTA tournament participation requirements and her health.<\/p>\n

She struggled with a stomach illness during her French Open quarter-final loss to Mirra Andreeva on June 5.<\/p>\n

World No.10 and three-time grand slam finalist Ons Jabeur cited health concerns along with a change of surface to explain her absence from the Games.<\/p>\n

The Tunisian has previously been dealing with a recurring knee injury.<\/p>\n

"After consulting with my medical team regarding attending the Olympics in Paris, we have decided that the quick change of surface and the body's adaptation required would put my knee at risk and jeopardise the rest of my season," she posted on X.<\/p>\n

Emma Raducanu, who won the US Open in 2021, declined her spot on Great Britain's team, joining Spanish former World No.2 Paula Badosa on a growing list of absentees.<\/p>\n

In terms of the men's competition, Andrey Rublev, Ben Shelton and Karen Khachanov have all been ruled out.<\/p>\n

Australia will be represented by at least new world No.7 Alex de Minaur in the men's draw.\ufeff<\/p>\n
