In a matter of days, Wallabies head coach Joe Schmidt<\/a> will name his first squad \u2013 but there are two big names that Morgan Turinui wants left out.<\/p>\n

Corey Toole and Darby Lancaster have been standouts for the Brumbies<\/a> and Rebels<\/a> respectively.<\/p>\n

Toole is famed for his outright speed while Lancaster has also shone on the wing this year in Super Rugby Pacific<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Stan Sport's Between Two Posts<\/em>, Turinui said he wants them to join the Sevens team for the Olympics before being added to the Wallabies squad.<\/p>\n

"My big one is I don't want to see Toole or Lancaster in the Wallabies squad," said Turinui.<\/p>\n

"I want them in Sevens. Worst case, they're back for the South African Test week, which is August 10.<\/p>\n

"The Olympics (finishes) last weekend in July. They're all getting straight out of there.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I'd love to see them play Sevens. Mark Nawaqanitawase was at training the other day. I saw him in there.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"These two guys (Toole and Lancaster), they know Sevens. They're worth points."<\/p>\n

Sevens at the Olympics begins on July 24 and concludes on July 30.<\/p>\n

The Wallabies will have three Tests before then against Wales (July 6 and 13) and Georgia (July 20).<\/p>\n

Turinui is confident Toole will be part of the Wallabies this year, albeit delayed.<\/p>\n

Between the Sevens concluding and the Wallabies playing their fourth Test of the year against the Springboks on August 10, there is just a week and a half.<\/p>\n

"Toole should be in the Wallabies squad but I'd like it to be pushed back because of the Olympics," said Turinui.<\/p>\n

"What you want is the coach to go 'Mate, I want to pick you, but I'm going to send you to Sevens. I'll bring you in after'. Best of both worlds."<\/p>\n

Stephen Hoiles believes that's enough time to get Toole and Lancaster into the Sevens team and back up to speed for a tilt at the Olympics.<\/p>\n

"There's enough time now to bring them in and get them conditioned to go back to it and they would make a significant difference to our Aussie side at the Olympics because the Aussie side is a very good men's side but if they're lacking one thing it's out and out pace," said Hoiles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
