The Cowboys<\/a> and the Warriors<\/a> were left a player down each in a bizarre double sin-bin late in the Warriors' 42-12 win over the Cowboys.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Tempers flared late in the match with Chad Townsend<\/a> in the thick of multiple feisty cracks before he and Warriors five-eighth Chanel Harris-Tavita were given marching orders.<\/p>\n

The veteran halfback was marginally early on Kurt Capewell, but slung the second-rower to the ground with his arm wrapped around his neck.<\/p>\n

Capewell snapped back at Townsend and pushed the Cowboys playmaker in the head, probing Townsend to retaliate in the same manner.<\/p>\n

\ufeffBoth teams were quick to react to the incident. Harris-Tavita dropped the ball onto Townsend's head.<\/p>\n

\ufeffReferee Ziggy Przeklasa-Adamski clearly had had enough and sent Harris-Tavita to the bin first, and then Townsend shortly after.<\/p>\n

"Come on, did Chad even react to the ball on the head? Seriously," Greg Alexander said in commentary for Fox Sports.<\/p>\n

"You can't be binned for that. He didn't throw it \u2013 he dropped it.<\/p>\n

"From what we just witnessed, how can anyone be sent to the sin bin for that?"<\/p>\n

"I'm perplexed about what just happened there. I've got to say, that was embarrassing," Brent Tate added.<\/p>\n

Cowboys captain Tom Dearden said he got "no explanation" for Townsend's binning.<\/p>\n

"I was a bit confused. I got told it was something about escalating the situation," he said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I don't think the officiating had any effect on our performance or how we turned up tonight."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Both refreshed off a bye, the Warriors proved to be the stronger side in Townsville, carrying the weight in possession and attack throughout the entirety of the match.<\/p>\n

The Warriors were first to strike after the incident with some Dallin Watene-Zelzniak magic wrapping up their stellar night.<\/p>\n

Watene-Zelezniak leaped through the air and batted the ball back in between two Cowboys defenders before recollecting the ball himself to go over and score.<\/p>\n

"This is an absolute miracle try," Alexander said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Valentine Holmes, who backed up just three days after his Origin success, followed to trim the Cowboys points deficit to 24, before Rocco Berry crossed in the dying moments.<\/p>\n

Earlier, \ufeffthe Warriors capitalised on unforced errors by the home side to score the first four tries in the match before Scott Drinkwater crossed the line to bring the home side into the game.<\/p>\n
