Wests Tigers<\/a> youngster Lachlan Galvin has shown amazing toughness for a teenager by playing for the past month with painkilling injections in a broken hand.<\/p>\n

With Aidan Sezer suspended and Latu Fainu out injured, the Tigers have begged Galvin to play through the pain and the 18-year-old has been happy to help the club out.<\/p>\n

"He's a tough kid and hasn't complained once," a Tigers insider told Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n

But what's complicated the issue is that Galvin's manager Isaac Moses learned of the injury during the bye break last week and wants the Tigers to rest the youngster to allow the injury to heal.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the Tigers have again named Galvin to play against the Dragons on Friday night despite Moses' plea.<\/p>\n

'Hopeless gambler' in hot water<\/h2>\n

One of the NRL's highest-paid players has a bad gambling problem – but has made it much worse by borrowing money all over town and then pouring it into the poker machines.<\/p>\n

Sosaia Latu, a speedy, athletic winger from New Zealand, has been scoring tries for fun in the junior grades this season.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old will continue playing Flegg in 2025, train with the full-time squad in 2026, become a development player in 2027 and move into the top 30 in 2028.<\/p>\n

The youngster starred in the Knights' charge to the SG Ball finals this season and now that competition has finished, he has moved up a step to the Flegg Cup where officials are eagerly watching his progress.<\/p>\n

The Broncos<\/a> have signed a promising 17-year-old forward who was being chased by several Aussie basketball franchises.<\/p>\n

Antonio Verhoeven, a towering 198cm lock or back-rower, has Tongan and Dutch heritage and hails from the west coast of the south island of New Zealand.<\/p>\n
