C\ufeffaroline Wilson<\/a> has revealed that Hawthorn<\/a> has offered six individuals up to $300,000 to settle the racism scandal that has rocked their club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It comes after two reports from Justice John Middleton and Gordon Legal indicated that there was "no bias whatsoever" that a subculture of racism existed at the Hawks between 2008 to 2015.<\/p>\n

It followed confirmation that mediation broke down between former senior coaches and players, with the matter now likely to head to Federal Court.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Hawthorn, we can report tonight, have offered a combined settlement of $300,000 to six individuals, who have been appearing at the Human Rights Commission" Wilson said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Cyril Rioli, his partner Shannyn Ah Sam\ufeff Rioli, Jermaine Miller-Lewis, his wife Montana Miller-Lewis, Carl Peterson and Hawthorn's former Indigenous welfare officer Leon Egan were all offered $50,000 as part of a rejected settlement last week. <\/p>\n

Wilson has broken down what went wrong and why the handful of individuals turned down the monetary offer.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"We know that all parties were saying it wasn't about money, \ufeffit was about an apology and an acknowledgement that racism took place at the club," she said. <\/p>\n

"Hawthorn has refused to do that."<\/p>\n

However, Wilson explained that \ufeffClarkson denied any racism during his time as coach, but did offer "acknowledgements" of some problems within the club at that time.<\/p>\n

"Acknowledgements were made by Alastair Clarkson \ufeffin a lengthy and hefty mediation day on day two, with all the families and their lawyers," she said.<\/p>\n

"He talked about a failed, or a problematic methodology, but certainly not racism.<\/p>\n
