C\ufeffronulla<\/a> fans might be ditching a night out at Northies for a trip to Las Vegas early next year, with the club emerging as a "favoured' team for the NRL<\/a>'s season opener.<\/p>\n

After a successful first outing in the United States earlier this season, the competition will again kick off in the famous Sin City in 2025 with two fixtures.<\/p>\n

According to 9News reporter Danny Weidler, the league's decision makers have moved one step closer to locking in the four sides who will make the trip.<\/p>\n

"This is subject to change, but right now the four favoured teams are Panthers, Raiders, Sharks and Warriors," he said on Nine's 100% Footy.<\/em><\/p>\n

"These are likely, they are not set in stone."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Penrith's recent premiership success has placed them at the top of the list for the NRL, while the rise of the Warriors over the past 18 months has put them in the mix.<\/p>\n

But it's the potential inclusion of Cronulla that has club great Paul Gallen<\/a> salivating, revealing a recent advertising campaign directed at swaying the NRL.<\/p>\n

"I've helped the Sharks – a week or two ago, we did a commercial or ad-type thing and the Sharks went and presented it to the NRL," he said.<\/p>\n

"I don't know the outcome … I don't know if the Sharks were down to a real shortlist.<\/p>\n

"They definitely want to go, they want to be there and they are putting a good case forward. Hopefully they can go."<\/p>\n
