K\ufeffane Cornes<\/a> has expressed his disgust towards Adelaide<\/a> forming a guard of honour to help cheer off Hawthorn<\/a> triple premiership player Jack Gunston<\/a> in game 250 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Crows were embarrassed by the young Hawks, going down by 27 points at the MCG<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They sit in 14th on the ladder with a 4-7-1 record after their latest loss.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Now, Cornes not only believes that Adelaide's finals chances are officially busted, but also thinks their support of Gunston was too "nice".\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It was, to be honest, a pathetic performance," Cornes said on Nine's Sunday Footy Show.<\/em><\/p>\n

"So what do you do after the game, after you put in a performance like that? Let's line up for a guard of honour, for a player who left the club after two years and went on to play in three premierships in a row at Hawthorn and cheer him off for game 250."<\/p>\n

Gunston got drafted to the Crows, playing 14 games between 2010-2011, before a trade to Hawthorn saw him play a major part in the club's three-peat between 2013-2015.<\/p>\n

Cornes is now deeply concerned that the Crows' kind gesture proves that they aren't willing to focus on their own problems, which start with coach Matthew Nicks.<\/p>\n

"I could not believe for game 250, which is a good milestone for Jack Gunston, don't get me wrong, but it's not guard of honour worthy," he said.<\/p>\n

"Your season is finished, you've lost your 10-in-a-row at the MCG, you're not playing finals, and you line up for a player who left after two seasons to go and win three flags at another club.<\/p>\n

"I couldn't believe it."<\/p>\n

Cornes wants to see the club ditch their "nice" label, which he is seeing side's pick apart week after week.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Matthew Nicks is a really nice guy, but I think he's too nice," Cornes said.<\/p>\n

"I think Jordan Dawson is a really lovely, nice guy. If your daughter brought him home for dinner, you'd be pretty happy.<\/p>\n

"There is a lot of niceness about the Adelaide football club."<\/p>\n

So how exactly should Adelaide have tackled that post-match gesture?<\/p>\n

Put simply, Cornes says the team should have left the ground as quickly as possible.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It was a shocking performance. They're not playing finals now, get off the ground and figure out how you're going to turn that around," he said.<\/p>\n
