Bad news, Collingwood<\/a> fans.<\/p>\n

Goal sneak Jamie Elliott's return date from a vascular issue<\/a> has been extended, with sources close to the 2023 premiership Pie concerned he may not play football again in 2024.\ufeff<\/p>\n

9News<\/em> Melbourne's chief football reporter Tom Morris confirmed that the small forward's timeline back into football is in serious jeopardy.<\/p>\n

What was originally thought to be back soreness that saw him ruled out of their round nine win over West Coast<\/a>, test results revealed a completely different issue for Elliott, with a vascular concern diagnosed.<\/p>\n

It is treatable, but the time on the sidelines is growing by the day.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\"Elliott<\/p>\n

"Collingwood are playing their cards very close to their chest at the moment," Morris said on Nine's Footy Furnace<\/em> on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

"But there are people around Jamie Elliott at the moment, who are doubtful whether he'll be able to play football in the short term, the mid term, or even at all again."<\/p>\n

Elliott is contracted until the end of 2025, but his injury is raising concerns about his future.<\/p>\n

"There are doubts around this vascular issue that appear to be affecting him as well," Morris said.<\/p>\n

\"Elliot<\/p>\n

"He's certainly one to watch."<\/p>\n

It comes as Collingwood's nightmare injury list continues to grow.<\/p>\n

With Elliott already sidelined with no clear return date, he joins a long list of other issues\ufeff growing at the club.<\/p>\n

Brody Mihocek and Will Hoskin-Elliott are sidelined with hamstring injuries, while star midfielder Jordan De Goey is also out with an abdomen strain.<\/p>\n

Veteran Scott Pendlebury has a bicep injury<\/a> that could see him out for up to a month, as well as Mason Cox with his knee and concussion troubles.<\/p>\n

Dan McStay is still battling his pre season ACL rupture, while Tom Mitchell and Joe Richards have foot complaints.<\/p>\n

Reef McInnes is also battling concussion.\ufeff<\/p>\n

As for Elliott, his injury extension couldn't have come at a worse time for the Pies, who suffered an 18-point loss to the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"The narrative has changed. A few weeks ago, we expected him back in two, three, maybe four weeks," Morris said.<\/p>\n

"Now, there's really no idea when he's going to be able to get back at all and whether he'll be able to get back this season."<\/p>\n
