I see the Queenslanders<\/a> are up in arms over James Tedesco being recalled to the New South Wales team<\/a>.<\/p>\n

QRL chairman Bruce Hatcher had the best line in the Courier Mail, claiming the Maroons wouldn't have axed Teddy in the first place.<\/p>\n

"Queensland would have stuck with the current captain and the bloke with the big track record," Hatcher said.<\/p>\n

I seem to recall Queensland told the likes of Darren Lockyer \ufeffand Petero Civoniceva their heads were on the chopping block after losing three straight series in the early 2000s.<\/p>\n

It was also the Maroons camp who claimed "the Origin concept is dead" after being thumped 56-16 in 2000 – they certainly know how to be dramatic when something goes wrong.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffQueensland rugby league journalist Ben Dobbin tried to claim the ARLC shouldn't have allowed Tedesco to join the Blues squad.<\/p>\n

Someone might want to check Dobbo's socks on game day.<\/p>\n

\ufeffWhat a ridiculous suggestion to make – if one of your key players gets injured during a training run before the game, of course you should be allowed to bring someone else in.<\/p>\n

And then there's Gorden Tallis trying to claim \ufeffthe Blues are "looking backwards" by bringing Tedesco back into the team.<\/p>\n

Spare me.<\/p>\n

It was basically a flip of the coin between Teddy or Dylan Edwards in the first place, and you're talking about a player who has captained his club, state and country for a long period of time.<\/p>\n

Teddy has won a Dally M Medal and been one of the best fullbacks in the NRL over the past decade, I'm really not sure how having him in the team is going backwards.<\/p>\n

\ufeffYou have to feel sorry for Edwards – he has been a great player for a few years now and he certainly deserved his spot in the squad.<\/p>\n

He would have done a great job in the No.1 jumper and it's just so unlucky to injure a quad a few days out from his debut.\ufeff<\/p>\n

You can't help but love the way Edwards goes about his footy.\ufeff<\/p>\n

But you also can't begrudge Tedesco for playing a 23rd State of Origin game for his state.<\/p>\n

He's been one of NSW's best servants for a number of years\ufeff and he's been in good form for the Roosters this year, so we certainly don't lose anything by bringing him in.<\/p>\n

I reckon Teddy will have huge motivation on Wednesday night to go out and brain them.<\/p>\n

While everyone respects Michael Maguire's team selections, it would have burned Teddy to be dropped from the side.<\/p>\n

\"Blues<\/p>\n

He's a passionate Blue and you can put your money on him making a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

It' not a crack at the coach or anything like that – Teddy is a team man and he will always do what's best for the state.<\/p>\n

But he will want to prove he's still the man for the job.<\/p>\n

The Blues won't have to change a whole lot with Teddy coming in for Dylan.<\/p>\n

As I wrote last week, they are very similar players anyway, and Tedesco has been the Blues fullback for ages already.<\/p>\n

They will do a big session on Monday to get him up to speed with anything that's needed, and they might do a bit more work at Tuesday's captain's run, but otherwise he will slot straight into the side.<\/p>\n

I can't wait to see Teddy do what he does best.\ufeff<\/p>\n
