G\ufeffeelong<\/a> and its fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief, after their dismal four weeks of footy finally came to an end, as they overcame Richmond<\/a> by 30 points at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

After four losses on the trot for Chris Scott's men, it took until the last quarter for the home side to click into gear.<\/p>\n

They piled on four unaswered goals in the \ufefflast term, keeping the Tigers at bay and grabbing a much-needed win.<\/p>\n

\ufeffBut it wasn't all smooth sailing for Geelong.<\/p>\n

The Cats got off to a slugglish start, allowing the Tigers to kick four goals to their two in the first term.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Richmond were all over the Cats in the first half and it truly felt the the Tigers of old.<\/p>\n

\ufeffDustin Martin danced like he was 22, not 32 and collected 15 for the game, as well as a goal.<\/p>\n

But it was Geelong's Ollie Dempsey who was able step up to the challenge, collecting 27 disposals and three goals.\ufeff<\/p>\n

It was also Geelong's midfielders who finally stood up, managing to break free of Richmond's shackles, with Max Holmes and Jack Bowes collevcting 29 disposals each.<\/p>\n

The loss also came at a cost for the Tigers, with key forward Mykelti Lefau\ufeff going down awkwardly on his knee in Richmond's forward 50 in the final term.<\/p>\n

His knee bent inwards, as he looked in complete agony and was attended to by trainers.<\/p>\n

It raises serious concerns for Lefau, who ruptured his ACL back in round seven of 2022.<\/p>\n

He walked off the ground, but will likely head for scans.\ufeff<\/p>\n

A crowd of 31,054\ufeff packed into GMHBA Stadium.<\/p>\n

Geelong now sit in fourth on the ladder, a big jump from seventh.<\/p>\n
