A\ufeffustralian boxer Tim Tszyu<\/a> has been dealt a devastating blow with his next fight forced to be called off.<\/p>\n

Tszyu was set to fight Vergil Ortiz on August 4 in a WBA super welterweight interim world title showdown.<\/p>\n

But doctors have ordered Tszyu to take more time off to recover from a nasty head wound suffered in his last fight – a loss to Sebastian Fundora<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"We are bitterly disappointed with the setback and Tim is extremely frustrated after a great pre-camp with (his father) Kostya," No Limit Boxing boss George Rose said on Friday.<\/p>\n

\"Aussie<\/p>\n

"He showed everyone that he'll fight through anything against Fundora but this decision was taken out of his hands to be honest.<\/p>\n

"Ultimately, it was his body and medical professionals telling him he wasn't ready yet."<\/p>\n

Tszyu boasted an unbeaten record from 24 professional fights when he put his WBO super-welterweight belt on the line in Las Vegas in March.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Aussie would have almost certainly won the fight if not for a huge gash on the top of his head, caused by Fundora's elbow in the second round.<\/p>\n

As a result of the cut Tszyu fought 10 rounds with blood streaming into his eyes.<\/p>\n

The much taller Fundora won the fight via split decision. One of the three judges awarded the win to Tszyu.<\/p>\n
