Matthew Lloyd<\/a> has called on Geelong<\/a> to get creative in finding a new ruckman, as they struggle through a rough 0-4 period.<\/p>\n

After starting 7-0, the Cats have hit a major form slump, losing their last four matches in painful fashion.<\/p>\n

Their fourth loss on the trot was at the hands of GWS by four points at GMHBA Stadium on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\ufeffIt is the first time in Chris Scott<\/a>'s coaching career with the Cats that he has gone on an 0-4 run.<\/p>\n

It's also the first time Geelong has gone 0-4 since early 2006.<\/p>\n

Despite the obvious holes in their midfield, headlined by inexperience and injuries to star captain Patrick Dangerfield and premiership player Cam Guthrie\ufeff, Lloyd has called out another area of concern.<\/p>\n

"Rhys Stanley is a premiership ruckman, but this is an issue again for them," Lloyd said.<\/p>\n

The Cats have subbed off ruckmen Stanley\ufeff and young Toby Conway in two of their last four losses, after being dominated by both experienced and inexperienced big men.<\/p>\n

"A loss in round nine (to Port Adelaide), a ruckman is subbed out (Stanley). Round 11, Toby Conway is subbed out," Lloyd said.<\/p>\n

It leaves utility Mark Blicavs to step into the ruck role, but that takes him away from another key spot in defence, which creates even more holes in Geelong's already struggling game plan.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Poor Mark Blicavs, he just has to be the Mr Fix It time and time again for the ruck issues they've got," Lloyd said.<\/p>\n

Now, Lloyd is keen to see Scott prove why he is the greatest coach in the league, calling on him to move a young defender into the middle.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI'm putting it on the next De Koning. Sam De Koning," he said.<\/p>\n

"Can he potentially be something for them (in the ruck)?\ufeff<\/p>\n

"They could start to invest and teach him how to be a ruckman.<\/p>\n

"He was a star in his first year, but he wasn't competitive enough on the weekend as a backman."<\/p>\n

Caroline Wilson wants the Cats to stop attempting to temporarily fill holes, instead urging them to go searching for a readymade ruckman to replace the ageing Stanley.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"They have to go to Fremantle and get (Sean) Darcy, don't they?" Wilson asked.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThey're the easiest players to recruit, and for some reason, Geelong never do it," Lloyd added.<\/p>\n

Geelong now sit sixth on the ladder after their most recent loss.<\/p>\n

They'll have to face Richmond at home, before travelling to the SCG for the daunting task of Sydney at their home ground.<\/p>\n
