Matildas<\/a> veteran Katrina Gorry\ufeff considers herself all but certain to be fit for Paris 2024<\/a> as she continues to recover from a syndesmosis injury, reports The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gorry is not a member of Tony Gustavsson's squad for Friday night's game against China in Adelaide and next Monday's match against China in Sydney, having ruptured her syndesmosis in late March.<\/p>\n

But the 31-year-old believes she will be ready for Australia's Olympic Games<\/a> opener against Germany on July 25.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"As soon as I went down, I knew that something wasn't right," Gorry told The Sydney Morning Herald.<\/p>\n

"I had actually done my left ankle in 2019, just before the World Cup, so I kind of knew that it was similar as soon as it happened.<\/p>\n

\"Katrina<\/p>\n

"… Obviously, it would be pretty devastating if I did have to miss the Olympics, but I trust in my body. I feel like I can get back and give what I can."<\/p>\n

Gorry said she expected to be back at full capacity with at least a few weeks to spare before the Olympics.\ufeff<\/p>\n

There's a considerable chance Paris 2024 will mark the Brisbane product's final major tournament in Australian colours, given the\ufeff next Women's Asian Cup will take place in 2026.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Gorry suffered her syndesmosis injury as West Ham United\ufeff met Chelsea in the FA Women's Super League, ending a terrific debut season in top-flight English football.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
