Legendary F1<\/a> broadcaster Martin Brundle<\/a> has hilariously shutdown a bodyguard \ufeffwho tried to stop him talking to French football<\/a> star Kylian Mbapp\u00e9<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brundle was conducting his pre-race grid walk when he saw Mbapp\u00e9 at the back of the grid.<\/p>\n

As Brundle approached, one of Mbapp\u00e9's bodyguards tried to shoo him away, to which Brundle replied "it's alright mate, I'm in charge around here".<\/p>\n

It's unclear whether or not the bodyguard would have heard the quip, but Brundle proceeded to speak to Mbapp\u00e9 anyway.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I'm just here for the race," the 25-year old said. "\ufeffI just want to be here like a fan and to enjoy the moment."<\/p>\n

But Mbapp\u00e9 was enjoying far from the typical fan experience.<\/p>\n

While few will ever get the opportunity to walk on the grid before a race, fewer will ever get the chance to wave the chequered flag, as Mbapp\u00e9 did later in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Mbapp\u00e9 is one of the biggest names in world football, and has just left Paris Saint-Germain, where he had spent the last six seasons. He is expected to sign a massive deal with Real Madrid in the coming days.<\/p>\n

Monaco is the jewel in the Formula 1 crown, and often draws more celebrities than other races. Brundle also spoke to \ufeffManchester United and Portugal defender Diogo Dalot, Chelsea and England fullback Ben Chilwell, and musician Joe Jonas.<\/p>\n

None of them had bodyguards, and all were only too happy to speak to Brundle.<\/p>\n

Brundle has been involved in \ufeffseveral awkward exchanges during his gridwalks, including at last year's Singapore Grand Prix, where he brushed young Aussie Oscar Piastri mid-sentence<\/a> to wish Esteban Ocon a happy birthday.<\/p>\n

He was also brutally snubbed by model Cara Delevigne ahead of last year's British Grand Prix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the race, Charles Leclerc\ufeff finally broke his Monaco Grand Prix duck<\/a>, winning his home race from pole position. Oscar Piastri was second.<\/p>\n
