A\ufeff top British event rider died after falling from her horse during an equestrian<\/a> event in the English county of Devon on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Georgie Campbell, 36, \ufeffwas competing at the Bicton International Horse Trials when she fell at a fence.<\/p>\n

Medical professionals rushed to the scene but she could not be saved.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe horse, Global Quest, was assessed by vets at the venue, before walking back to the stable uninjured.<\/p>\n

"It is with deepest regret that we announce that Georgie Campbell (GBR) suffered a fatal accident whilst competing at the Bicton International Horse Trials," British Eventing said in a statement.<\/p>\n

"… To respect the family's privacy at this extremely difficult and sad time, no further details will be shared."<\/p>\n

Campbell was initially a top showing rider before taking up eventing.<\/p>\n

She represented Great Britain on many occasions on Nations Cup teams and featured at several five-star events, the highest level of eventing.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Campbell competed in more than 200 events and won on six occasions.\ufeff<\/p>\n

She was married to fellow event rider Jesse Campbell, who competed for New Zealand at the \ufeffTokyo 2020 Olympics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
