Collingwood defender Isaac Quaynor has caused a storm with AFL fans after making a cheeky admission following the Pies' hard fought draw with Fremantle on Friday night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Dockers staged a comeback down the stretch but could not get the result in what was the third draw in the AFL<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n

Yet Quaynor found himself in the cross-hairs of Fremantle fans in the fourth quarter when\ufeff he lunged in an attempt to get a hand on a Bailey Banfield bomb around the 50-metre line.<\/p>\n

The long range shot was thought to be good – until the umpire acknowledged Quaynor's pleas of getting a fingertip to the ball.<\/p>\n

Replays of the moment did not show Quaynor's fingers get a touch on the ball. Reaction to the moment was compounded, when Quaynor admitted he did not touch the ball during a post-match interview with the ABC.<\/p>\n

"I'm not a liar, I didn't touch it," Quaynor said.<\/p>\n

"But I was trying to claim it \u2026 I'm a liar to win a game, but once it's over, I'll be honest."<\/p>\n

The comments led to a heated reaction from fans online who questioned the player's integrity.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The Quaynor incident came moments before a controversial umpiring call that awarded Fremantle a shot on goal.<\/p>\n

Pies midfielder Lachie Sullivan was helped off the Optus Stadium turf, but as he stood up he handed the ball off to teammate Nick Daicos.<\/p>\n

Umpire Mathew Nicholls blew his whistle and awarded the free kick to Freo ruckman Sean Darcy before explaining to the angry Pies players why he'd paid the free kick.<\/p>\n

"He didn't hand the ball back to me \u2014 he handed it to a teammate," Nicholls could be heard saying on his umpire mic during the broadcast.<\/p>\n
