Supercars<\/a> has requested a meeting with Erebus Motorsport<\/a> chief executive Barry Ryan after an alleged "public humiliation" of a journalist<\/a> following last weekend's Perth round.<\/p>\n

Speedcafe editor Andrew van Leeuwen claimed on the publication's Full Credit to the Noise<\/em> podcast that Ryan invited him into the Erebus garage after racing wrapped up at the Wanneroo Raceway following the Perth SuperSprint on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

When he arrived in the garage, he found most of the team in its customary post-weekend huddle. It's alleged he was then scolded for his coverage of the Brodie Kostecki<\/a> saga.<\/p>\n

On Thursday morning, Supercars confirmed to Wide World of Sports it had reached out to the team and requested a meeting ahead of the next race meeting in Darwin.<\/p>\n

Van Leeuwen said the incident was "incredibly awkward for every single person involved", and left him "in a bit of shock".<\/p>\n

He said a later private conversation with Ryan about the incident turned "fiery".\u00a0<\/p>\n

WWOS contacted Ryan for comment on \ufeffvan Leeuwen's allegations, and he replied by text message: "There's two sides to every story and one side is always the truth."<\/p>\n

WWOS is not suggesting that van Leeuwen's claims about what Ryan said to him are true; simply that van Leeuwen made these claims during the Full Credit to the Noise<\/em> podcast.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Motorsport Australia confirmed it had also "reached out to those parties involved" following the allegations.<\/p>\n
