Australia's<\/a> hopes of recording a historic women's rugby win \ufeffover New Zealand have taken a hit with star flanker Ashley Marsters ruled out of Saturday's Test with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n

Dynamic and versatile, Marsters has been one of the best performers for the Wallaroos \ufeffin Pacific Four Series losses to Canada in Melbourne (33-14)<\/a> and the United States in Sydney (32-25).<\/a><\/p>\n

The Rebels standout has been \ufeffreplaced in the No.7 jersey by Waratahs flanker Leilani Nathan for the clash at North Harbour Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Wallaroos are coming last in the four team competition and \ufeffrequire a bonus point win over the world champions to qualify for the top tier WXV1 in October.<\/p>\n

Australia, ranked fifth in the world, have never beaten New Zealand (third) in women's rugby.<\/p>\n

It was Canada's first ever win over the Black Ferns and also secured them the Pacific Four Series title.<\/p>\n

New Zealand coach Allan Bunting has responded by dropping star winger Ruby Tui from his squad and demoting co-captain Ruahei Demant to the bench.<\/p>\n
