W\ufeffest Coast Eagles<\/a> No.1 draft pick Harley Reid<\/a> has admitted his 19th birthday, spent in WA, was the "worst" of his life.<\/p>\n

Reid was drafted to the Eagles at the end of last year, packing up the only life he's ever known in Bendigo, Victoria, and move interstate.<\/p>\n

Since arriving at West Coast, Reid's impact has been instant.<\/p>\n

He was nominated for AFL rising star in round five and has dominated across multiple rounds.<\/p>\n

His most recent performance in round 10 saw him fend off two of the greatest midfielders in the game, Melbourne's Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca\ufeff in the same play in their 35-point win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But it hasn't all been smooth sailing for the youngster, who has been able to successfully absorb the intense media pressure from day one.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Reid admitted after their win over the Demons that he has been feeling homesick, especially after missing spending his 19th birthday, on April 17, with his family back home.<\/p>\n

"In April there's three of our birthdays," he told ABC radio on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

"I missed my sister's, and mine too. I got to spend that on my own.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

"It was probably the worst birthday."<\/p>\n

Reid was \ufeffrested at the end of April<\/a>, missing the Eagles' clash against the Suns in round seven, with the club granting him leave to fly back home to spend some much-needed time with his loved ones.<\/p>\n

It was the saving grace the young midfielder needed.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It was good to get back and I felt like I needed to see the family," he said.<\/p>\n

"It was good to connect back there with them."<\/p>\n

The superstar\ufeff reflected on the things he is desperately missing living in Western Australia, as he learns to navigate life away from his family.<\/p>\n

"Sometimes on your day off you'd love to drive around and see your family but obviously you can't, so it was good to get a weekend home and see the family," he said.<\/p>\n

"I'm 19, I've never moved out of home, so I don't know any different without my parents around and my family."\ufeff<\/p>\n
