S\ufeffydney<\/a> veteran Luke Parker<\/a> has come under fire after a dangerous late bump in the VFL<\/a> on Friday night.<\/p>\n

In their 15-point loss to Frankston, Parker chose to run past the ball and chose to bump his opponent Josh Smith.<\/p>\n

The act occurred in the second term and caused major damage to Smith, who was rushed to hospital suffering serious facial injuries as a result of the hit.<\/p>\n

The hit has come at the complete wrong time for Parker, as he continues to struggle to crack Sydney's senior side<\/a> after an early-season injury, but has continued to dominate at VFL level.<\/p>\n

Parker broke his arm in a pre season match<\/a>, with the 31-year-old still unable to earn an AFL recall after nine rounds of football.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Now, the Swans are flying, sitting two games clear on top of the AFL ladder.\ufeff<\/p>\n

It also comes after Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd urged the Swans veteran to seek a trade elsewhere at the end of the season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Parker is signed with the Swans until the end of the 2025 season, but Lloyd thinks the safer option is to have an exit strategy mapped out now.<\/p>\n

"I'm thinking to myself, if I'm Luke, 'I'm trying to get to a club next year\ufeff … can I get to a top four club?'," he said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

"You get an injury and suddenly (Justin) McInerney, (Errol) Gulden, (Chad) Warner, (Isaac) Heeney, all these guys start to go past you, in a sense.<\/p>\n

"(James) Rowbottom goes past him, Taylor Adams comes in, he's gone past him, James Jordon's gone past him.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He can change (a side). It's hard, because North are struggling. You like to be around Luke Parker, because he's as tough as they come."<\/p>\n

However, Lloyd says Parker will be more use at a club that is ready to contend and would require his services to propel them to a flag in the next year or two.\ufeff<\/p>\n
