Nothing happened,&quot; Allenby was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"16f45967-d815-4ba8-a3da-de72239a8bf5\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/6cdbfa74-7b55-4f66-9f8c-bc1d97eba2c2\" alt=\"A mugshot of Robert Allenby. (Rock Island Police)\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In January 2015, Allenby missed the cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii and said he was abducted and beaten after visiting a Honolulu wine bar, but his caddie suggested the story was made up.<\/p>\n<p>His story also came under scrutiny when witnesses said they saw Allenby at a strip club.<\/p>\n<p>Allenby said he did not remember much of the night until he was pushed out of a car more than 10 kilometres from the wine bar without his wallet and mobile phone.<\/p>\n<p>An arrest eventually was made and a Honolulu man was jailed for five years for using Allenby&#x27;s credit cards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEVEN BOWDITCH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another Australian, Steven Bowditch, was arrested for extreme DUI following the first round of the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open. Scottsdale police said Bowditch had a blood-alcohol level over 0.20 percent when he was taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to a 911 report about a truck \u201cswerving all over the road,\u201d officers observed the vehicle sit through two greens lights without moving and found Bowditch asleep behind the wheel.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"cb668bb3-178b-4773-8494-db8ee0e55e6b\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/aec93da8-23b8-4ba4-beb8-159d5667bc63\" alt=\"29. Geoff\" data-width=\"748\" data-height=\"505\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He was released from jail, shot 3-over 74 in the second round and missed the cut.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I would like to apologise to my family, friends and supporters, as well as the PGA TOUR and Waste Management Phoenix Open for the incident reported today,&quot; Bowditch said.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;As I intend to fully cooperate with the authorities, I will not be making further comment at this stage.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MATT EVERY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matt Every was in his first year on the PGA Tour when he was arrested for marijuana possession in Bettendorf, Iowa, two days before the first round of the 2010 John Deere Classic.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested along with two other men after police were called to investigate the odor of marijuana coming from a room.<\/p>\n<p>The smell became stronger when police knocked on the door, according to a police report.<\/p>\n<p>Every tied for 56th in the tournament and later was suspended for three weeks. He was suspended 12 weeks in 2019 for violating the PGA Tour\u2019s Conduct Policy for drugs.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"a9ec02b5-b40a-4e6f-8a58-d6ff457833a1\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/a9ec02b5-b40a-4e6f-8a58-d6ff457833a1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"5386\" data-height=\"3591\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>JOE OGILVIE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Joe Ogilvie was charged with driving while impaired after a traffic stop on the day before the 2006 Wachovia Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Police say he was stopped for speeding, and the officer smelled alcohol. He failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody before posting bond. He tied for 26th that week.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"14c68d2c-da97-4059-9bfb-b8a3511129b9\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/14c68d2c-da97-4059-9bfb-b8a3511129b9-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"3000\" data-height=\"2000\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>JACK McGURN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jack \u201cMachine Gun\u201d McGurn was one of Chicago mobster Al Capone&#x27;s henchmen, and also was a pretty good stick. He entered the 1933 Western Open under an assumed name and shot 83 in the first round.<\/p>\n<p>Police got wise to McGurn&#x27;s ruse the next day and planned to arrest him on the course.<\/p>\n<p>According to Golfheritage.org, Chicago had just passed a law to treat individuals associated with crime as vagrants unless they could show legitimate income. At the time, McGurn headed up a bookmaking operation.<\/p>\n<p>McGurn was 1 under when officers approached him on the seventh green to make the arrest.
