Sky Blues<\/a> winger Jaime Chapman's stunning first-half try is being hailed as one of the greats in State of Origin<\/a> history.<\/p>\n

The former Brisbane Broncos<\/a> star collected a poor kick from Queensland<\/a> second-rower R\ufeffomy Teitzel before charging past Evania Pelite and Tamika Upton to run almost 80m and score under the post.<\/p>\n

It was the Sky Blues' second try \ufeffof the night, and came only minutes after Chapman made a break down the right side that led to Emma Tonegato opening the scoring.<\/p>\n

"What a sight in full flight, one of the great athletes in rugby league has scored one of the best individual tries we have seen in any Origin," Peter Psaltis said in commentary for Nine.<\/p>\n

"The entire Suncorp Stadium is up off their feet."<\/p>\n

Chapman made the switch from rugby union to the NRLW<\/a> in late 2022\ufeff, joining the Gold Coast Titans in the centres.<\/p>\n

"She runs like a gazelle. What about the stride on this union girl?", Phil Gould<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

"That is breathtaking. That's a moment she'll never forget. Her fans will remember it. I will remember it. Absolutely brilliant" Phil Gould added.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Speaking after the match, Chapman revealed that coach Kylie Hilder "smashed" the team during training to prepare for the clash.<\/p>\n

While all 17 of the Maroons had spent the last two months playing in the Queensland Cup, only the four Sky Blues who'd managed to find a QCup side of their own had any match fitness. Even they had only played four games.<\/p>\n

"Everyone doubted us (because) we didn't have any games under our belt, but we did a pre-season with our (strength and conditioning coaches) smashing us," she told Marlee Silva on Nine.<\/p>\n

"(Coach) Kylie (Hilder) did a great job to make sure we were ready for Game 1. Up on Queensland's turf, and we did it \u2013 very proud of all the girls."<\/p>\n

"We know Newy fans turn up, so it will be nice to go to Newcastle and have the fans back me for once.<\/p>\n

"Newcastle, we will win on our home turf too."\ufeff<\/p>\n
