Colton Herta gave IndyCar Series<\/a> rookie Christian Rasmussen the bird in practice at the Indianapolis 500<\/a> for a move he was none too pleased with.<\/p>\n

Rasmussen tried to pass Herta into turn one at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, forcing Herta to go off the traditional racing line and come off the throttle.<\/p>\n

The Ed Carpenter Racing driver copped a middle finger from Herta for his troubles and the Andretti Global driver let Rasmussen know how he felt as he passed by on the straight.<\/p>\n

Only moments earlier Rasmussen had received praise from Indianapolis 500 pole sitter turned commentator James Hinchcliffe for efforts to make headway.<\/p>\n

"You see, down the inside Rasmussen goes but Herta decides to hang it on the outside," said commentator James Hinchcliffe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I was giving Rasmussen credit earlier for being the guy that would put half a car width on the outside. Colton just made that a two-lane race track."<\/p>\n

Day two of practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was hit by inclement weather, limiting running.<\/p>\n

Meyer Shank Racing's Tom Blomqvist completed the most laps of any with 105 to his credit, just over half of the race distance.<\/p>\n

New Zealand's Scott McLaughlin led Australia's Will Power in a Team Penske one-two.<\/p>\n

McLaughlin set a session-best 229.493mph lap and was the only driver to surpass the 228mph mark.<\/p>\n

Herta was third fastest ahead of Josef Newgarden (Team Penske), Alexander Rossi (McLaren), Kyle Kirkwood (Andretti), Pato O'Ward (McLaren), Alex Palou (Chip Ganassi), Ryan Hunter-Reay (Dreyer & Reinbold), and Helio Castronever (Meyer Shank).<\/p>\n

With all the inclement weather, McLaughlin was just happy to get on track.<\/p>\n

"So boring, there's only so much Netflix you can watch," said McLaughlin.<\/p>\n

"I was over it. I watched about three movies but then I was ready to go once we got going, and I was happy as.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"When the car is good straight away, that's a nice feeling. I feel that anticipation, as well, because it is quite a bit of anticipation just getting ready to go.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"I think this is two years in a row we've lost opening day. It's a nice feeling."<\/p>\n
