G\ufeffeelong<\/a> coach Chris Scott<\/a> has swung the axe ahead of their crucial Darwin clash against Gold Coast<\/a> on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The Cats lost their second game in as many weeks in round nine, going down to Port Adelaide by six points<\/a>.\ufeff<\/p>\n

But don't fret Cats fans, Scott is adamant the changes are "exciting" despite the mega hole left by their outs.<\/p>\n

\ufeffWithout star forward Jeremy Cameron, who has been ruled out with concussion<\/a>, the Cats still opted to rest veteran Tom Hawkins.<\/p>\n

It means young big man Shannon Neale will be left to fill the gap left by the premiership stars up forward.<\/p>\n

Midfielders Jack Bowes and Tanner Bruhn have been named, replacing Mitch Duncan.<\/p>\n

As for the ruck, Rhys Stanley has been axed after he was subbed off during the term term last week, replaced by youngster Toby Conway.<\/p>\n

"It's exciting too. We've got a couple of guys that will come back in," Scott said on Wednesday in Darwin.<\/p>\n

There's also no pressure on the four inclusions, with Scott keen to continue his rotation throughout the season, which has seen him rest a multitude of players already.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"We're not saying to those guys that will get their opportunity, 'come on, this is it boys, you've got to take your chance now or it won't be there next time'," he said.<\/p>\n

Scott also cleared up the conversation that was held between himself and A\ufeffFL umpiring boss Stephen McBurney alongside head umpiring coach Michael Jennings.<\/p>\n

The pair drove to Geelong on Monday afternoon to have an open discussion with Scott surrounding his concerns around officiating.<\/p>\n

Scott offered "a couple of quick observations"<\/a> after his side's loss to Port Adelaide<\/a> on Friday night.<\/p>\n

"Laura Kane and the AFL have gone to great lengths, and we support this, that they want to communicate more and they're really happy for people to contribute to the conversation as long as it's respectful," he said.<\/p>\n

"I'm comfortable and confident that that was, and will be, the case."\ufeff<\/p>\n
