Aussie coach Ange Postecoglou<\/a> has lashed the idea his Tottenham<\/a> will attempt to lose its game against Manchester City<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

And he's taken aim at Spurs fans who will supposedly death ride the team out of a desire to see Arsenal robbed of the Premier League<\/a> title.<\/p>\n

The Gunners sit atop the competition ladder and are on track to win their first premiership in \ufefftwo decades.<\/p>\n

But City can crush that dream if they win their remaining two games, the first being against the Spurs.<\/p>\n

\ufeffArsenal has only one game remaining – against Everton on Monday (AEST).<\/p>\n

If the Spurs lose to City it will go a long way to denying Arsenal the title, which is something many Tottenham fans want to see.<\/p>\n

But Postecoglou \ufeffwhacked those supporters wishing their team defeat.<\/p>\n

"If you go by social media there's probably 99 per cent of Spurs supporters who don't (want to win against City)," the coach said.<\/p>\n

"If that's your world, please don't tell me that's your world\u2026 we'll need to have a counselling session if that's your world."<\/p>\n

Postecoglou denied his team would have any objective other than winning on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"I understand rivalry," Postecoglou said.<\/p>\n

"I was part of one of the biggest ones in the world in the last couple of years with Celtic and Rangers, and I understand the rivalry. But I have never, and will never, understand if someone wants their own team to lose.<\/p>\n

"That's not what sport is about. It's not what I love about the game. What I love more than anything in the game is the competitiveness, challenging yourself to beat someone and coming out successful.<\/p>\n

"Anything outside of that, it's got nothing to do with sport. It's got nothing to do with me.<\/p>\n

"If other people want to treat it that way, that they get pleasure from other people's misery, that's not how I've lived my life.<\/p>\n

"It's hard work, perseverance, it's resilience, it's quality that will get us what we want, not to fall for any sort of false dawns or any short-term result reactions, stick to the course and thirdly, know what real success looks like.<\/p>\n

"Real success looks like trophies. Anything else in between, bragging rights, whatever, it is absolutely meaningless to me\u2026 we've got a game tomorrow we want to win."<\/p>\n

Tottenham is still in the hunt for Champions League qualification, too.<\/p>\n
