Matthew Lloyd says he agrees with the sentiment of S\ufefft Kilda<\/a> youngster Mattaes Phillipou's manager's controversial tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

9news Melbourne reporter Tom Morris revealed on Nine's Footy Furnace<\/em> on Sunday that the 19-year-old's manager, who handles his endorsements, \ufeffhad tweeted his frustrations with Saints coach Ross Lyon<\/a> after their five-point loss to Hawthorn.<\/p>\n

In his second year with the club, \ufeffPhillipou was dropped for the first time in his career for the clash with Hawthorn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"\ufeff@davidking34 tell me who in the forward line has improved under Lyon? (Mitch) Owens, (Max) King, Phillipou have gotten considerably worse under Lyon. When they came in young and just played, they looked exciting. He is destroying them," the tweet read.<\/p>\n

The account has since been deleted, with the manager admitting regret.<\/p>\n

Despite the walk-back from the teen's manager, Lloyd agrees with his thoughts on the mismanagement of those players.<\/p>\n

But Lloyd says the only thing wrong was the tweet, not the content of it.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He got it wrong as in tweeting," Lloyd said.<\/p>\n

The Essendon legend declared he only condemned the manner in which the criticism was brought up, but agreed with the questioning of Lyon's coaching.<\/p>\n

"I agree (with the sentiment) and I wonder why (Mitch) Owens, (Max) King and Phillipou, who are all so talented and have so much flare about them, aren't playing the football they hope to," he said.<\/p>\n

Meantime, Caroline Wilson declared St Kilda's list is sub-par, noting that their current 3-6 record is a better indication of where they should be ranked, compared to their finals berth in 2023.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThe list isn't any good," she said.<\/p>\n

"I thought they overachieved last year.<\/p>\n

"It was a woeful performance (against Hawthorn) and (coach) Ross (Lyon) would agree with that."<\/p>\n
