The umpires were booed off Adelaide Oval as the Crows<\/a> and Brisbane<\/a> ended their round nine tussle in a 90-all draw on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

It's the second draw of the 2024 season, following the all-time classic Anzac Day draw between Collingwood and Essendon<\/a> in round seven.<\/p>\n

It also reignites the debate for extra time in home-and-away matches.<\/p>\n

It's only the third ever draw in Adelaide's 34-year history, while for the Lions, it's their first since 2009.<\/p>\n

Both sides missed crucial chances in the final term to seal the game, with one point in it at the final break.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Adelaide midfielder Jordan Dawson, who has never played in a draw in his AFL career, declared he felt "empty" after the result, that gives both sides two points each, instead of the usual four for a win.<\/p>\n

Dawson had a shot to win in the final stages, but was unable to capitalise, spraying the ball wide.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It would be nice to have an outcome\ufeff," Dawson said on Fox post match.<\/p>\n

"Win or lose, you never really like playing in draws. \ufeff<\/p>\n

\"Crows<\/p>\n

"Pretty empty feeling at the moment. It's just a weird feeling.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It's a game of inches, really, isn't it?\ufeff"<\/p>\n

The Crows are no strangers to close encounters over the past year, namely losing out to Sydney on the eve of the 2023 finals series due to a mistaken non-goal call off Ben Keays' boot.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"We've got such a resilient group, we're always in games," Dawson said.<\/p>\n

The non-result was made worse as the Crows suffered a crucial injury blow to young defender Josh Worrell in the third term<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Worrell was on the ground chasing a lose ball in Adelaide's forward 50, when Brisbane's Cam Rayner fell onto him.<\/p>\n

The Crow's wrist was caught under him awkwardly as the play continued on, before the game was stopped to attend to the 23-year-old.<\/p>\n

The injury couldn't have come at a worse time for the Crows, who, just 10 minutes prior, already activated their sub, bringing on Luke Nankervis and removing Dan Curtin from the action.<\/p>\n

Richmond great Jack Riewoldt was unhappy with Adelaide's sub blunder.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"This is why making the sub is really risky, when you do it at half time when a player's not injured," he said on Fox Footy at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n

Brisbane and Adelaide now sit with a 3-5-1 record after nine rounds.<\/p>\n
