Melbourne Storm<\/a> chief executive officer Justin Rodski has denied the Storm are chasing Tevita Pangai Junior after the former Broncos, Panthers and Bulldogs forward revealed he'd been in discussions with Craig Bellamy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After retiring last year, Pangai Junior has revealed an intention to return to the code but is yet to find himself a club.<\/p>\n

Speaking to SEN Radio three days ago, Pangai confirmed he had been in contact with coach Bellamy<\/a> and admitted an offer would be too good an opportunity to pass up.<\/p>\n

"It was funny because I had actually seen Cameron Smith at the netball maybe a month ago, and that gave me the idea to give Bellyache a cold call," he said.<\/p>\n

"If Craig Bellamy wants you, you sort of have to go.<\/p>\n

"Hopefully that does come to fruition, to be in a system like Melbourne Storm."\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffHowever, Rodski explained those conversations have amassed to nothing.<\/p>\n

"Him and Craig Bellamy had a conversation about a month ago, there was a discussion about whether or not we'd been open to looking at him," he told 2GB's Continuous Call Team<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"I think at the time Craig told the list management group about the conversation but to be honest it didn't go any further than that.<\/p>\n

"He hasn't been playing rugby league and if we're going to be looking at filling a gap for our list this year we needed someone that would be ready to come in and play straight away.<\/p>\n

"So I don't think there'll be any movement there."<\/p>\n

The Storm boss also quashed a rumour reported by Maroons great Corey Parker around the future of Jahrome Hughes.<\/p>\n

Parker said he'd heard whispers around Hughes potentially heading to Queensland<\/a>, but Rodski rubbished that suggestion. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Jahrome's well and truly a Melbourne person, he's contracted for another two years \ufeffafter this year," he said.<\/p>\n

"At the right time we'll sit down and talk about an extension with Hughesy, he's given us every indication he wants to remain a Melbourne Storm player.<\/p>\n

"Him and his wife Molly are very happy in Melbourne and we're very confident he'll see out his career at the Melbourne Storm so I'm not sure where that rumour came from or how it started but it certainly wasn't from the club or Jahrome."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
