{"id":392490,"date":"2024-05-09T07:16:49","date_gmt":"2024-05-09T07:16:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=392490"},"modified":"2024-05-10T08:03:50","modified_gmt":"2024-05-10T08:03:50","slug":"one-166-qatar-exceeded-all-expectations-says-group-president-next-event-already-in-the-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=392490","title":{"rendered":"ONE 166: Qatar \u2018exceeded all expectations\u2019 says Group President, next event already in the works\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                With the dust now settled in the wake of ONE Championship\u2019s return to the Middle East, the company\u2019s execs have an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the event &#8211; and are already anticipating an even bigger return.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\nONE 166: Qatar played out to a packed house at the Lusail Sports Arena at the start of this month, and featured a night of thrilling competition &#8211; including three world title fights, and a main event which saw history being made as Russia\u2019s Anatoly Malykhin became the first MMA fighter globally to hold three world titles\u00a0 concurrently at different weights.\u00a0<br \/>\nMartial arts in the region\u00a0 are showing a huge boom currently with lots of the world\u2019s key players looking for their place in the market, and ONE certainly made a huge impact in Qatar.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cIt was great, I think it exceeded all expectations,\u201d said Hua Fung Teh, Group President at ONE Championship.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cThe atmosphere was amazing. It&#8217;s a big stadium. It&#8217;s a 10,000 seater. It was near capacity with a lot of VIPs in attendance.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cDespite competing with great events happening in Qatar that same evening, we had great attendance, great atmosphere, and great feedback\u201d.<br \/>\nPreceded by ONE\u2019s first ever open workout featuring eight of the organisation\u2019s top martial artists, the historic event gave fans and partners alike a unique experience.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cI think our partners are all very happy, we had top leadership in attendance and all the feedback was positive,\u201d said Mr. Teh.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cThis was our first major event in the Middle East. It&#8217;s our debut in Qatar.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cBut interestingly, it was actually a first for us in terms of the event week activities. We did our first ever open workout on a beach, and I give Qatar Tourism credit &#8211;\u00a0 that was an idea put together in partnership with them. And it went very, very well. So I think there was a certain spirit of innovation, and creativity.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cAnd we want to apply that same spirit to the next event and see what else we can do.\u201d\u00a0<br \/>\nAnd that is the line local fight fans will have been wanting to hear &#8211; \u2018the next event\u2019. It is something Mr. Teh is already planning along with the wider ONE team and how the experience can be made even better for fans.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cNow we&#8217;re just thinking about the next one and what else we can do to further enhance the experience,\u201d he said.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cThis is\u00a0 going to be hopefully a recurring thing for us, this is a long-term partnership that we have with Qatar..
