Under-fire boxer Ryan Garcia<\/a> \ufeffexpects to be cleared of recent positive drug tests after a report from VADA (The Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency) found it could not confirm the presence of 19-Norandrosterone and only traces of banned substance Ostarine.<\/p>\n

ESPN reported last week, that Garcia had tested positive for banned substances<\/a> Ostarine and 19-Norandrosterone, with the latter substance requiring further analysis.<\/p>\n

However, further investigation by VADA via Carbon Isotope Ratio testing, as published by respected boxing journalist Dan Rafael, concluded that Ostarine was detected but 19-Norandrosterone "did not confirm".<\/p>\n

The steroid metabolite 19-norandrosterone, was initially flagged as a "possibility", but now has been downgraded to a non-fail.<\/p>\n

The analysis also found\ufeff Garcia only tested positive for trace amounts of Ostarine, which equates to a billionth of a gram in his sample.<\/p>\n

Garcia will now be called before the New York Athletic Commission unless the B samples prove otherwise.<\/p>\n

The revelation comes \ufeffas the New York State Athletic Commission head Kim Sumbler resigned, but it's said the resignation has nothing to do with Garcia.<\/p>\n

Garcia pounced on the news of his clearance of \ufeff19-norandrosterone, taking the news as a full acquittal.<\/p>\n

"So yall realise I didn't fail the tests now," he posted. "No substance other than this imaginary ostrich substance… level so low wouldn't have any effect. THEY TRIED BUT NO LIE STANDS PRAISE GOD.<\/p>\n

"A billionth of gram found in my system, bruh, you can't make this up," added Garcia. "NYSAC resigns, and everyone is backtracking now.<\/p>\n

"Stop messing with me. Defamation lawsuits. To everyone else who tried to claim I cheated, suck a huge one to the point you explode."<\/p>\n

Garcia's attorney, Darin Chavez, suggested the levels of Ostarine in his client's system are proof that "we are dealing only with a known supplement contaminant in the billionth of a gram range that provided Ryan Garcia with no performance-enhancing benefit whatsoever on fight night," he told ESPN's Mike Coppinger.<\/p>\n

Any amount of Ostarine in a fighter's system is grounds for a positive test but the amount of the substance will be heavily assessed when his B-sample is revealed on May 23 AEST.<\/p>\n

If the amount is at a picogram level, some claim that would support claims it came from a contaminated supplement.<\/p>\n

"Cleared of 19-norandrosterone per more detailed testing of the April 19 sample," Rafael said. "There's nothing imaginary about PED Ostarine. [Ryan Garcia] Faces hearing and likely punishment for two failed tests.<\/p>\n

"[The] Ostarine amount doesn't matter. Some things you can have up to a threshold. Ostarine is not allowed at any level."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Appearing on the Fully Tilted<\/em> podcast on May 7, Garcia said if he was taking steroids he would have been in much better shape.<\/p>\n

Garcia admitted to drinking and smoking cannabis throughout his whole training camp ahead of the Haney fight, saying he was "high as f—" when he stepped in the ring.<\/p>\n

"If I was on steroids, I would have been in way better shape," Garcia claimed. "I was literally drinking every day, smoking weed – I did not stop, not even until the f—–g day of the fight. I got in there high as f—, and I beat his ass."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
