B\ufeffarnstorming backrower David Fifita<\/a> has informed Gold Coast<\/a> he will be leaving the club at season's end.<\/p>\n

The Sydney Morning Herald reports<\/a> Fifita informed the Titans on Thursday he will not take up an option for 2025.<\/p>\n

It leaves the Panthers and the Roosters as frontrunners to nab the Origin star.<\/p>\n

Fifita flew south to Sydney earlier this week and met with both powerhouse clubs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Penrith is believed to have tabled a three-year offer worth about $850,000 a season.<\/p>\n

The Roosters have reportedly offered him four years, but for a lower annual salary.<\/p>\n

Fifita could have earned about $1 million if he stayed on the glitter strip next year.<\/p>\n

He burst onto the NRL scene with the Broncos in 2018 and was called into the Queensland Origin team the following year.<\/p>\n

He jumped ship to the Titans in 2021 on a deal worth $1.25m a season – at that time the richest per-season deal ever signed in the game.<\/p>\n

But Gold Coast has struggled since he's been there, playing only one finals game.<\/p>\n

It's understood the 24-year-old is now more motivated by the prospect of winning premierships than adding to his bank account.\ufeff<\/p>\n
