Three female spectactors have been charged by the New South Wales Rugby League<\/a> of using vile and racist slurs during a first grade match in the Campbelltown area south west of Sydney last weekend.<\/p>\n

The charges arose after complaints were lodged with the NSWRL following the live streaming of the match in Group 6 of the Country Rugby League.<\/p>\n

Audio with the footage on YouTube revealed Campbelltown Collegians players being abused by members of the crowd after their victory at Thirlmere Sports Ground.<\/p>\n

Among the profanities, a female in the crowd allegedly screamed "get back on your boat" at a Collegians player of Polynesian descent.<\/p>\n

The footage went viral and was viewed over 250,000 times, resulting in a NSWRL investigation.<\/p>\n

"The NSWRL has charged three female spectators with several code of conduct offences following a Macarthur Premiership match between Thirlmere Roosters and Campbelltown Collegians on Sunday 28 April," a statement read.<\/p>\n

"The offences include using offensive or obscene language, and behaving in a manner contrary to the spirit of the game. One of the spectators has also been charged with exhibiting racial intolerance.<\/p>\n

"Both clubs have assisted the NSWRL with its investigation. The NSWRL, and the clubs involved, do not tolerate any form of vilification.<\/p>\n
