C\ufeffarlton<\/a>'s Matt Owies has come under fire after he received a free kick for a dumping sling tackle against Collingwood<\/a> on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Owies was wrapped up in a tackle by Magpie Brayden Maynard\ufeff during Collingwood's six-point win at the MCG<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Blues forward was slung to the ground and rewarded a free kick for the dangerous act in the third term.<\/p>\n

However\ufeff, on second look, Owies may have contributed to the sling that saw him propelled head-first into the MCG turf.<\/p>\n

Collingwood players believed Owies added to the tackle.<\/p>\n

Maynard was caught on \ufeffthe field umpire's microphone expressing his anger at the decision.<\/p>\n

"What? He jumped forward," Maynard said.<\/p>\n

Owies then went back and slotted a goal to reduce the Pies' lead to just six points in the third quarter.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"You can hear the Collingwood players say, 'He dived forward' \u2013 I reckon he's got a bit of a case," Richmond legend Matthew Richardson said in commentary for Channel Seven.<\/p>\n

"I think he (Owies) was reasonably happy to go forward there \u2026 he knows he might've been able to draw one (free kick)."<\/p>\n

Despite the free kick handed Carlton's way, the Pies were able to snatch the four points in a classic rivalry match.<\/p>\n

It was thanks to one man who knows exactly how to stand up when the game is in the balance.<\/p>\n

With one minute left to play and the scores level at 70-all, Daicos snatched a brilliant goal from 45 metres out after he sharked the ball from the ruckman.<\/p>\n

The Blues were unable to cover the space left by Daicos as Pies fans, and his own father Collingwood legend Peter Daicos\ufeff, celebrated brilliantly.<\/p>\n
