The rivalry between Collingwood<\/a> and Carlton<\/a> is absolutely alive and well.<\/p>\n

Friday night's \ufeffblockbuster clash saw the Pies sneak home with a six-point victory in the Peter MacCallum Cup.<\/p>\n

It was a game of two tales, with Carlton up by as many as 19 points in the second term, before the Pies took an 11-point lead into the main break.<\/p>\n

The scores were level with less than three minutes left to play in the final term, with Blue Matt Cottrell kicking truly to even up the contest\ufeff.<\/p>\n

But it was one man, whose name has become synonymous with Collingwood, who knew exactly what to do when the game was in the balance.<\/p>\n

Enter Nick Daicos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With one minute left to play, Daicos snatched a brilliant goal from 45 metres out after he sharked the ball from the ruckman.<\/p>\n

The Blues were unable to cover the space left by Daicos, as Pies fans and his won father, Collingwood legend Peter Daicos\ufeff.<\/p>\n

Despite literally winning the game off his boot, the 21-year-old remained humble after the victory.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It's good, but credit to Carlton, these games seem to go down to the wire," Daicos said on 7 post match.<\/p>\n

"It was a good feeling, we missed a couple (of goals) before it … I'm just lucky it went through."<\/p>\n

On top of Daicos' heroics\ufeff, it was one special debutant for Collingwood who took just two minutes to make his mark on the game.<\/p>\n

Lachie Sullivan<\/a>, who was on the Pies' list for just 10 weeks, was subbed on after Beau McCreery copped a brutal knee to the head from Carlton's Cottrell in the second term.<\/p>\n

The mature-aged rookie booted a scintillating snap on the run. It was his first ever touch in the AFL.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"The perseverance, it has been such a great story," Daicos said of Sullivan's debut.<\/p>\n

"He's played such an integral role for us in front of 90,000."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Another special moment came when Pies veteran Scott Pendlebury<\/a> kicked his one goal of the night, with his celebration quickly noticed.<\/p>\n

He held his hand up on his forehead, showing all five fingers.<\/p>\n

It was a nod to his pending 400-game milestone, which he is now just five matches shy of.\ufeff<\/p>\n
