T\ufeffhe pressure is mounting on Brisbane<\/a> coach Chris Fagan<\/a>, according to AFL great Matthew Lloyd.<\/p>\n

The Lions have started their season miserably, slumping to a 2-5 record after seven rounds.<\/p>\n

Most recently, they went down to the Giants by a whopping 54 points<\/a>\ufeff, with questions raised around their hunger.<\/p>\n

Fagan admitted after that loss that he had \ufeff"no answers" for the blistering GWS forward line and his side's drop in pressure.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffOur sharpness to defend, which has been one of our strengths this year, wasn't where it should have been tonight," Fagan said post-match.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWe just didn't work as hard as they did. I have no excuses."<\/p>\n

With Brisbane 13th on the ladder, it appears the side is performing completely differently to the one that made the 2023 grand final, only losing to Collingwood by four points.<\/p>\n

Now Lloyd is concerned that Fagan has lost the group\ufeff just months on from their near-premiership victory.<\/p>\n

"The question for them is, do they have the energy to go again?," Lloyd said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

"At the moment it's suggesting to me they don't have the energy."<\/p>\n

Lloyd broke down the areas he has seen a clear drop off, calling out midfielder Cam Rayner's lack of intensity around the footy, that headlined his game last season.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I loved their finals series last year, but I'm just seeing things on why (Cam) Rayner can't produce one week to the next," Lloyd said.<\/p>\n

"It's so clear to see their effort isn't there\ufeff."<\/p>\n

Lloyd is also worried the Lions could face the same fate as other losing grand final teams\ufeff, such as Adelaide after their 2019 loss to Richmond.<\/p>\n

The Crows have not played \ufefffinals since that loss.<\/p>\n

"It's amazing … how many grand final teams get close (to winning) and you think they'll go on with it, but they just don't," Lloyd said.<\/p>\n
