M\ufeffaika Sivo<\/a> could be a little sheepish heading into Parramatta<\/a> training this week, after a "stupid" late sin-bin cost his side a chance at victory against Manly<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After crossing for a hat-trick in his return to the NRL<\/a>following a stint in NSW Cup, the star winger would be sat down for 10 minutes following an elbow on Reuben Garrick.<\/p>\n

With the Eels down by just two points at the time, Sivo's absence would allow the hosts to cross for two quick tries and seal the 32-18 result at Brookvale Oval.<\/p>\n

Speaking to media post-game, head coach Brad Arthur<\/a> was questioned numerous times about the incident and was in disbelief regarding Sivo's brain snap.<\/p>\n

"It's dumb isn't it? It was 20-18," he said.<\/p>\n

"There was 10 or 11 minutes to go, on tackle four – they put a kick up and hopefully we get the ball back. There's no point saying too much tonight on emotion, we'll just let it settle. I'm sure he knows, he doesn't need me to tell him how silly it was.<\/p>\n

"He showed why we put him back in the team, because he scored a couple of those tries that nobody else in our team could score.<\/p>\n

"I thought he had done a really good job and he was playing good football \u2026 I don't think I need to say too much, I'm pretty sure he will be disappointed."<\/p>\n

Eels captain Clint Gutherson<\/a> shook his head as Arthur \ufeffwas asked about the incident, before giving his own assessment of the 30-year-old's moment of madness.<\/p>\n

"It was just stupid," he said.<\/p>\n

"We were right in the game, 10 minutes left and we thought we were back on.<\/p>\n

"It's just silly things at the moment that are really hurting us \u2026 you can't do that in NRL games, no matter who you are versing."<\/p>\n

Sivo wasn't the only Parramatta player to spend time in the sin-bin, with star centre Will Penisini given his marching orders for a professional foul on Tom Trbojevic.<\/p>\n

Ryan Matterson could also find himself in hot water for a high tackle on Luke Brooks in the eighth minute, while Manly enforcer Haumole Olakau'atu was placed on report and sin-binned for a dangerous tackle on Shaun Lane.<\/p>\n

While the result didn't go their way and the crucial moments saw them fall apart, Arthur took some solace from the fact the Eels rectified some issues from a week prior, which saw them towelled up in Darwin by an under-strength Dolphins outfit.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I won't lie, I was concerned after last week with the lack of effort and how we fell in a massive hole," he said.<\/p>\n

"My initial thought is that we haven't lost a footy team, they are still there … we've just got to decide if it's full-time, all the time.<\/p>\n

"I thought in the second-half, we probably beat ourselves with an 8-1 or 9-1 penalty count. You just can't do that against a good football team that shifts the ball a lot."<\/p>\n

It won't get any easier for Arthur's side, who slumped to 3-5 for the season after Friday night's loss, with clashes against the Broncos and Storm awaiting them after the bye.<\/p>\n
