E\ufeffssendon<\/a> winger Xavier Duursma has shut down calls for extra time to be brought into home-and-away matches, after the Bombers drew with Collingwood in their annual Anzac Day clash on Thursday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Twenty-nine years after the very first draw in the very first Anzac Day match between these two sides, history repeated itself with an 85-all draw.<\/p>\n

After the match, there were calls from Collingwood veteran Scott Pendlebury and skipper Darcy Moore to introduce extra time<\/a> into in season matches, to ensure there is a clear winner.\ufeff<\/p>\n

There is no extra time in home-and-away matches, only finals and the grand final. Each side receives two of a possible four points for the draw.<\/p>\n

"Extra time?," Pendlebury asked on 7 post-match.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

"Everyone had their chances. Obviously, we got a little bit lucky there with them (Kyle Langford) kicking a point there.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

Moore echoed Pendlebury's idea.<\/p>\n

"A bit of extra time would be good for the plot. Golden point would be a bit of fun," Moore told Fox Footy post-match.\ufeff<\/p>\n

But, Duursma simply isn't buying into the debate.<\/p>\n

\"Langford<\/p>\n

"I think its been a part of the game for a long time\ufeff, the draw. You take the two points sometimes and just move along," he said on Friday.<\/p>\n

He did however note how "deflating" it felt to come away with no result on the biggest home and away fixture of the year.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It was a bit\ufeff deflating when you fight for two-and-a-half hours and at the end of the day it's the same result as what it was at the start of the day," Duursma said.<\/p>\n

Meantime, his teammate Ben McKay has been receiving unwanted attention after he was used as a step ladder by Magpie Jamie Elliott to take the likely mark of the year.\ufeff<\/p>\n

McKay was in for scans on Friday, with Duursma making light of the attention the tall defender has received.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I'm not sure what Benny's come in for, but hopefully\ufeff he's all good," Duursma said.<\/p>\n

"I'm sure it wasn't his shoulder though\ufeff, pretty funny."<\/p>\n

The Bombers have recorded four wins, two losses and a draw, while the Magpies have three wins, three losses and a draw under their belt.\ufeff<\/p>\n
