L\ufeffatrell Mitchell<\/a> still has two games left on an NRL<\/a> suspension – but any concerns over his future in the game have been allayed by the man closest to him.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has been the centre of attention this year, with the Rabbitohs<\/a> struggling on the field as the fullback dishes up some less-than stellar performances.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Mitchell was hit with a three-game ban<\/a> for an ugly elbow on Shaun Johnson in round five, ruling him out \ufeffof upcoming fixtures against the Storm and Panthers.<\/p>\n

There had been suggestions the Taree product could call it quits on his rugby league career as the pressure mounts, but according to his older brother Shaq, that couldn't be further from the truth.<\/p>\n

"He hasn't changed one bit – he's very enthusiastic," the prop told 9News.<\/em><\/p>\n

"He'll tell you himself, he hates watching. He loves playing the game and jumping up with the boys. It's killing him at the moment, but it is what it is.<\/p>\n

"He's copped it on the chin."<\/p>\n

Mitchell is on a large salary at South Sydney and while his desire has always been to wear the No.1 jumper, there is a belief he could be moved to the centres upon his return to the side, with young gun Jye Gray<\/a> impressing on debut at the back.<\/p>\n

While the decision from Jason Demetriou<\/a> won't be made for another fortnight, Shaq sees the benefit of having both players in the starting lineup.<\/p>\n

"Having both of them on the same side is going to be very dangerous," he said.<\/p>\n

"You've got the power game and a little speedster as well, so for sure he should be fitting in there at some point.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

The front-rower remains unsigned for 2025 and beyond, but has expressed his desire to stay at Redfern as the club look to extend his tenure.<\/p>\n

"I'm 28 now, time is ticking," he said.<\/p>\n
