NRL great Corey Parker<\/a> revealed he has heard "rumblings" that Melbourne Storm<\/a> halfback Jahrome Hughes<\/a> is considering making the move back to Queensland.<\/p>\n

Hughes is contracted with the Storm until 2026 after signing a four-year deal in 2022 worth more than $800,000 a year.<\/p>\n

Speaking on SENQ Mornings<\/em>, Parker revealed that the New Zealand-born star was keen to part ways with the club to be closer to family.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI'm hearing rumblings that one superstar in the game wants to come home to Queensland and be with the family," Parker revealed.<\/p>\n

"That player is Jahrome Hughes.<\/p>\n

"Whether that's at the end of his contract or not, that remains to be seen."<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old made two NRL appearances prior to his signing at the Storm in 2017, donning the Gold Coast Titans<\/a> jersey in 2013 and playing for the North Queensland Cowboys<\/a> in 2016.<\/p>\n

Hughes has been with Melbourne since 2017 and was appointed vice-captain alongside Cameron Munster for the 2024 season.<\/p>\n

"I know his wife is from the Gold Coast and at this stage, it's just rumblings that I'm hearing," Parker said.<\/p>\n

"It remains to be seen if it's before his term of contract or not, but watch this space.<\/p>\n
