The Cronulla Sharks<\/a> have shot to the top of the NRL ladder after a dominant 42-6 victory<\/a> over the Cowboys<\/a> a\ufefft Shark Park.<\/p>\n

A double to Braydon Trindall headlined a six-try blitz by the Sharks, while a second-half double to Ronaldo Mulitalo piled on the pain for the Cowboys.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys struggled to keep the Sharks out, and as a result of the 36-point rout, fall outside the competition's top four.<\/p>\n

Speaking post-match, Cowboys skipper Tom Dearden vented his frustration at the big loss.<\/p>\n

"I\ufefft's very disappointing to get beaten like that down here, we wanted to come down here with a good attitude and we weren't good," he told Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

"It was a combination of all areas tonight."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Will Kennedy opened the scoring for Cronulla after Scott Drinkwater thrust the ball backward looking for a teammate.<\/p>\n

Drinkwater was under pressure and thought he had support behind him but it was Kennedy who instead scooped up the ball before making a beeline for the tryline.<\/p>\n

The Sharks went back-to-back through \ufeffThomas Hazelton who broke the line sidestepping several Cowboys' defenders.<\/p>\n

In his first NRL game, \ufeffwinger Samuel Stonestreet grabbed his first try after crossing over unchallenged.<\/p>\n

After \ufeffjumping on a grubber to score in the first half, Trindall added his second when he scooped up a lose ball from a bomb to kick-start the second half. <\/p>\n

Mulitalo then had his first try eight minutes later. Having taken the ball on the wing, the Kiwis representative then ran in field to score under the posts. <\/p>\n

"That's embarrassing," Brad Fittler said of the Cowboys' defence on Nine. \ufeff<\/p>\n

After \ufeff62 minutes, Valentine Holmes broke through to get the Cowboys on the board.<\/p>\n

Holmes ran onto a grubber from \ufeffChad Townsend to score against his old side.<\/p>\n
