G\ufeffWS<\/a> Giants skipper Toby Greene<\/a> high contact on Carlton<\/a>'s Jordan Boyd may land him in hot water, but coach Adam Kingsley has leapt to his defence.<\/p>\n

The Giants' undefeated run came to an end as \ufeffCarlton surged past them to take a 19-point win<\/a> at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The loss could come at an even bigger cost if Greene's act is deemed punishment worthy.<\/p>\n

Greene was jumping for a mark in the fourth term, extending his leg and turning his body at the last second as Boyd also flew in to contest the footy.<\/p>\n

The clash saw Boyd's head impacted after he ran back with the flight of the ball and he was awarded a free kick.<\/p>\n

Boyd did not get taken off the ground and finished the game.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Greene's history with the match review officer has been far from pretty, which could be cause for concern for the Giants.<\/p>\n

But Kingsley is adamant his leader will escape any punishment this time.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It's hard being Toby," Kingsley said post match.<\/p>\n

"There won't be anything in that."<\/p>\n

Kingsley explained the incident from his perspective,\ufeff defending Greene's action and noting that he is "allowed" to utilise his body to safely contest for the footy.<\/p>\n

"He's allowed to contest the ball, isn't he? He's allowed to launch at the ball?," he said.<\/p>\n

"And if you're running and launching at the ball, and you've got your eyes for the ball, and you're trying to take a chest mark, and you get knocked \u2026 free kick against?"<\/p>\n

Kingsley was also questioned on whether it's difficult to teach his players to lead for a mark while also being aware of not hurting opposition players in the air.<\/p>\n

"No, just Toby," Kingsley said.<\/p>\n

Meantime, Giants forward Jesse Hogan could also be in trouble after an off-the-ball hit to Lewis Young's face, after a scuffle broke out in the goal square.\ufeff<\/p>\n
