W\ufeffestern Bulldogs<\/a> midfielder Bailey Smith<\/a> could very likely be in the black and white of Collingwood come 2024.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old ruptured his ACL in the pre season<\/a>, ruling him out of the entire 2024 season, but has naturally drawn trade attention despite being sidelined.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Now, it seems Collingwood<\/a> are the clear favourites to land the young star.<\/p>\n

Smith has been linked to Geelong\ufeff, but Fox Footy's Sam Landsberger now suggests the midfielder would prefer to stay in Melbourne, where his family and friends reside.<\/p>\n

Smith is also in business with Nick and Josh Daicos, further strengthening the link between him and the Pies.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I think Collingwood has emerged as the clear frontrunner to secure Bailey Smith's services next year," Sam Landsberger told Fox Footy on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"You know he spent the off-season in New York with all the Collingwood boys? Lots of happy snaps, he's business partners with Nick and Josh Daicos.<\/p>\n

"We've all been thinking Geelong for probably 12 months, they share that sponsorship with Cotton On, we know Hawthorn would love him in their midfield as well.<\/p>\n

\"Smith<\/p>\n

"But I think it's the Magpies who lead the race for Bailey, who we all accept has one foot out the door at Whitten Oval."<\/p>\n

Landsberger explained that Smith's lifestyle is too grand for the sleepy hollow that is Geelong\ufeff.<\/p>\n

"The thought has been that the lifestyle down at Geelong is big for him. He's a marquee man, he loves the big smoke," he said.<\/p>\n

\"Bailey<\/p>\n

In December last year, Smith expressed his desire to have an even bigger impact once he returns from knee surgery.<\/p>\n

"I'm really motivated to come back bigger and better," he told 9News Melbourne.<\/p>\n
