Cole Palmer put on an unstoppable display with a perfect first-half hat trick and a fourth in the second half as Chelsea<\/a> demolished Everton<\/a> 6-0.<\/p>\n

Palmer scored with his left foot, head and right foot in the 13th, 19th and 29th minutes to become the first Chelsea player to score in seven successive home games.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt all happens so fast,\u201d Palmer told Sky Sports. \u201cWe started well and I scored another hat trick \u2014 buzzing. First one was my favourite, my right foot was a bit of a swinger.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Manchester City reject stroked home a superb first from just outside the box and nodded in the second from close range after Jordan Pickford could only parry Nicolas Jackson\u2019s shot.<\/p>\n

His third was a wonderful 35-yard lob after Pickford needlessly gifted him possession.<\/p>\n

Nicolas Jackson added a fourth a minute before halftime, and Palmer made it 5-0 from the penalty spot in the 64th.<\/p>\n

Substitute Alfie Gilchrist's first goal for the club made it six in injury time.<\/p>\n

Palmer\u2019s goals took his season tally to 20 in the league, tied with Manchester City\u2019s Erling Haaland.<\/p>\n

While the team made short work of their opponents and their style was free-flowing, there was some drama involving Chelsea stars, when they were awarded a penalty on the hour mark.<\/p>\n

Both Noni Madueke and Nicoals Jackson tried to take the ball away from Palmer to take the spot kick but it took captain Conor Gallagher to step in and hand the ball.<\/p>\n

"Wish Pochettino had taken off Jackson and Madueke right away there. Absolutely ridiculous behaviour," BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty wrote on X.<\/p>\n

The Athletic's James Pearce labelled the scenes "embarrassing" for teammates to act in such a manner.<\/p>\n

The result extended a depressing few days for Everton. Just hours before kickoff, the club lodged an appeal against a two-point deduction for a second breach of the Premier League financial rules.<\/p>\n

Everton was docked two points last week for overspending in a three-year spell up to the end of the 2022-23 season. It was a second deduction this season for Everton, which had six points removed \u2014 reduced from 10 following an appeal \u2014 for breaching spending limits from 2019-20 to the 2021-22 season.<\/p>\n

"We\u2019ve already agreed that\u2019s gone, we have to get on with it," Everton manager Sean Dyche said. \u201c(The points deduction) is out of our control.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dyche described the loss as a \u201ccollective down day\u201d and said his team was miles off the pace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t perform like that at a place like this. The key moments when they got chances, finding the back of the net, we haven\u2019t done that all season.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Liverpool club sits in 16th place, only two points and two places above the relegation zone.<\/p>\n
