Kane Cornes<\/a> has \ufeffcalled on the Western Bulldogs<\/a> to move on from under fire coach Luke Beveridge<\/a> after a dismal start to their 2024 campaign.<\/p>\n

The Dogs are 2-3 after five rounds, coughing up a shock 29-point loss at the hands of Essendon in an embarassing performance in round five.<\/p>\n

Cornes is now calling for the club to seek out Beveridge's replacement, noting how the 2016 premiership coach continues to waste a potential top four list.<\/p>\n

"I don't know how many times I can sit here and say they should have moved on the coach a long time ago," Cornes said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

"It (the club) needed a fresh start, it needed a reset."<\/p>\n

"They're just not on the same page.<\/p>\n

"He disagrees with list management and the board and CEO."<\/p>\n

Beveridge has come under fire for axing star defender Caleb Daniel for their loss to the Bombers\ufeff, with his list management questioned as former premiership players fade into the background.<\/p>\n

Now is the time, Cornes \ufeffsays, to bring in a fresh set of eyes who could rejuvinate the list and properly utilise forgotten stars.<\/p>\n

"It is the best coaching job that you can get right now," he said.<\/p>\n

"A new coach would go in there and do similar to what\ufeff Adam Kingsley (did at GWS).<\/p>\n

Aside from list management issues, Cornes says Bulldogs leaders need to dig deeper to uncover the true issues with Beveridge at the helm.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Every time they don't win, we question the list," he said. <\/p>\n

"It's far more wide ranging than just selection. This team refuses to defend, they refuse to stop run-ons. Essendon kicked 10 out of the last 11 goals.<\/p>\n

"It's a bigger issue for Luke Beveridge than just selection. He doesn't believe in defender and he hasn't believed in defender for the best part of seven or eight years. <\/p>\n

"That's the biggest issue.\ufeff"<\/p>\n
