Penrith Panthers<\/a> coach Ivan Cleary<\/a> believes his star fullback Dylan Edwards<\/a> is "perfectly suited" to the Origin<\/a> arena as preparation ramps up for game one.<\/p>\n

NSW Blues<\/a> coach Michael Maguire<\/a> is faced with a fullback selection dilemma for his first game in charge, as a number of players put their names forward.<\/p>\n

Incumbent and captain James Tedesco is the likely man to be picked by Edwards' three premierships in a row put him right up there.<\/p>\n

The Panthers fullback also made his representative debut for the Kangaroos during the Pacific Championships.<\/p>\n

"He'd never let them down," Cleary said in The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"And I think he's perfectly suited for that environment and these type of games when there is lots of ball in play.<\/p>\n

"'Dyl' is also so good defensively. If you watch him play NRL, he'd bring so much of that to Origin."<\/p>\n

Edwards, who leads the competition for run metres with 1,284, admitted the motivation is there to pull on the sky blue jersey as NSW tries to stop a three-peat. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Every kid grows up (and) wants to represent his state, and I'm no different," he said in the Herald<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"Our style of footy here at Penrith, and the way we want to play, I try to play a high work rate style of footy, and that's the type of footy you need to play in Origin.<\/p>\n

"You never know until you're thrown in there. But I just have to play well here. I know that's a clich\u00e9.<\/p>\n
