C\ufeffaroline Wilson<\/a> says under fire Western Bulldogs<\/a> coach Luke Beveridge<\/a> has been questioned about his "confusing" messaging regarding the club's future, as his own job hangs in the balance.<\/p>\n

Wilson also confirmed that the 2016 premiership coach will front the media on Tuesday, after their horror 29-point loss to Essendon on Friday night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Beveridge\ufeff's selections decisions, which include axing small defender Caleb Daniel<\/a> and lack of clarity for his playing group has gained criticism, as the club struggles to repeat their 2016 premiership efforts.<\/p>\n

Wilson\ufeff says the club isn't in "crisis" mode just yet, but have put the onus on Beveridge to define what he wants from his playing group, who sit 2-3 after five rounds.<\/p>\n

"The club has denied … that there was a crisis meeting today wherein the coach was going to be spoken to about some of his methods, some of his selection decisions," Wilson said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

\"Luke<\/p>\n

"But what is true, is that Luke Beveridge will address the media tomorrow and my understanding is he will be told in no uncertain terms that the message has to change.<\/p>\n

"The message has been confusing. What are they doing at the moment, are they playing for the now, or are they rebuilding?"<\/p>\n

Late in 2023, Peter Jackson was \ufeffbrought into Whitten Oval to review the club, just after Beveridge was signed on for a further two seasons at the helm.<\/p>\n

His job was to ensure the coach was left to simply do his job and have less of a say in the politics of the club.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

"I gather that among those findings … that the coach needed stronger people around him\ufeff, different people around him and more help," Wilson said.<\/p>\n

However, Wilson says Beveridge and the Bulldogs are yet to implement any of the findings\ufeff, which is restricting the coach from taking his list back into contention.<\/p>\n

"We haven't really heard much from the CEO … the president, we haven't heard from Matthew Egan or Chris Grant\ufeff, all we've heard from is Luke Beveridge," she said.<\/p>\n

"He needs to say where they're playing for. The view from most internal people at the club is that this is a top four list."<\/p>\n

Matthew Lloyd questioned Beveridge's selection and mismanagement of his star players.<\/p>\n

"He cops pressure because there's always players who we know are good enough to be in their 22, who just aren't being played," Lloyd said.<\/p>\n

"Then it gets to mid season and the side settles down again, he picks a side he should've picked in the first half of the year and the Dogs come home to either play (finals) or just miss out. It just doesn't make any sense.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, after his shock axing, Wilson is confident Daniel will pull on the boots this week against St Kilda, who are also 2-3 after five rounds.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"I can promise you that Caleb Daniel will play this week\ufeff," she said.<\/p>\n
