Wantaway star Zac Lomax<\/a> starred for the Dragons<\/a> in their 24-12 win over Tigers<\/a> in front of a \ufeffsold-out crowd at Campbelltown Stadium on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

The centre-turned-winger finished with 12 points including one try, three conversions and a penalty goal.<\/p>\n

Lomax \ufeffis set to sign a four-year deal with the Eels<\/a> from next season after the Dragons released him from the final two years of his contract.<\/p>\n

"He's a competitor. Zac is my boy, he goes hard every game and we do rely on him," fullback Tyrell Sloan told Nine post-game." <\/p>\n

Lomax opened the scoring for the Red V in the first minute of the match before Stefano Utoikamanu responded for the Tigers in the 14th minute.<\/p>\n

Tigers' skipper Api Koroisau baffled the Dragons' defence with a look-away pass out of dummy-half to set up Utoikamanu in spectacular fashion.<\/p>\n

In a bizarre moment, the Bunker was called in to review a conversion after Koroisau hammered the Steeden into the post before it cut across the face of goal.<\/p>\n

However, Koroisau soon redeemed himself, kicking the penalty shot from 10 metres out after Sloan was penalised for a dangerous tackle.<\/p>\n

Dragons' centre Jack Bird plucked a long pass from \ufeffBen Hunt before the Dragons went back-to-back through Kyle Flanagan.<\/p>\n

There was drama late in the half as Bird was ruled out of the match with a category-one head injury<\/a> after a whiplash incident. He was replaced by Tom Eisenhuth.<\/p>\n

At the main break, the Dragons lead the Tigers 16-6.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The \ufeffhosts were denied a try after Isaiah Papali'i was deemed to have knocked the ball on in the lead-up.<\/p>\n

St George Illawarra extended their lead to two converted tries after \ufeffDavid Klemmer was penalised and placed on report for a dangerous tackle on Flanagan.<\/p>\n

The margin continued to grow as Jaydn Su'A dodged several Tigers' defenders to score, before last year's wooden spooners scored a late consolation try. <\/p>\n

Tensions threatened to boil over in the closing stages when Lomax was on the receiving end of a high shot from Klemmer but the Dragon held their nerve to straighten out their record this season to 3-3.<\/p>\n

"Both these teams would have to lift a lot to challenge the teams at the top of the table," NRL Immortal Andrew Johns said post-match.<\/p>\n

"I'm really disappointed in the Tigers, I expected a much better effort here at a sold-out stadium. They looked incredibly flat and you can see the frustration there on Benji Marshall. Dragons were okay, but both teams really need to lift."<\/p>\n

Koroisau was left to rue a number of crucial errors in his side's loss as they look to rebound for a clash with the Panthers in round seven.<\/p>\n
