U\ufeffFC<\/a> celebrated their 300th major event on Sunday (AEST) – and the show ended in the most brutal fashion possible.<\/p>\n

After a blockbuster night of action in Las Vegas, it all came down to Alex Pereira<\/a> and Jamahal Hill in the main event for the light-heavyweight crown.<\/p>\n

Pereira won the previously vacant title in November but faced a tough task in the American, who hadn't lost in close to three years.<\/p>\n

But in one of the most stunning moments of the night, Pereira knocked out Hill inside the opening round to continue his reign as champ in the 205lb division.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHerb Dean had attempted to call a timeout for Pereira, but the champ brushed the official aside and said he was ready to continue, before landing a huge left hand on Hill and finishing the bout with some vicious ground-and-pound strikes.<\/p>\n

"My goodness, what a killer," Joe Rogan said on commentary.<\/p>\n

"He literally pushed him [Dean] aside and said 'Don't touch me, don't stop this'.<\/p>\n

"He made it look easy – he lost respect, not just for the power but for the skill level."<\/p>\n

After the fight, Pereira revealed he was considering a move up to heavyweight in a bid to become a three-division champion in the UFC.<\/p>\n
