T\ufefferrell May<\/a> has signed a two-year extension with the Roosters<\/a>as the front-rower continues his push to become the long-term successor to Jared Waerea-Hargreaves<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old has been a tremendous find for the Tricolours since making his debut less than two years ago, with his size and power through the middle of the field complementing some of the stars in the backline.<\/p>\n

This season, May has emerged as a genuine State of Origin smokey for NSW, averaging 126 run metres and 29 tackles per game at a phenomenal 98 per cent efficiency.<\/p>\n

May's numbers stack up with some of the game's best props and with Waerea-Hargreaves leaving the club at season's end, the timing of his new contract couldn't have been better for the Roosters.<\/p>\n

Despite receiving ample interest from rival clubs and the allure of playing alongside his brother Taylan, the towering enforcer claimed he was "grateful" to remain in Bondi.<\/p>\n

"I'm really happy to have my future sorted with the Roosters," May said.<\/p>\n

"I love being part of the team here and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to represent the red white and blue for another two years."<\/p>\n

May has started two matches this season for the Chooks and come off the bench in the other four, but averages well over 50 minutes per appearance.<\/p>\n

The club's head of recruitment, Daniel Anderson, heaped praise on the rising star for his continued growth on and off the field.<\/p>\n

"It's been terrific to see Terrell's development over the last few seasons," he said<\/p>\n

"He's powerful, athletic and a competitor, and his best football is still ahead of him so we're very pleased to have locked him in for another two years."<\/p>\n

May will remain at the Roosters until at least the end of 2026, while the likes of Victor Radley, Lindsay Collins and Nat Butcher \ufeffhave signed through until the end of 2027.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Phil Gould<\/a> revealed the rollercoaster journey May had taken to get to the peak of his powers and believes he could make the jump to rep football.<\/p>\n

"He's very efficient, no risk in the world – it would be early in his career, but Terrell is a late maturer," he said on Wide World Of Sports' Six Tackles With Gus<\/em> podcast.<\/p>\n

"He played in the same SG Ball squad as Burton, Crichton, Sean O'Sullivan and those sort of players. He was never in the main side, but I didn't mind him.<\/p>\n

"Then I left and he somehow fell out of favour and out of love with rugby league and took some time off. He was always going to be a late maturer.<\/p>\n
