Giants<\/a> fans will be breathing a sigh of relief at both Sam Taylor's injury update and the scoreboard on Saturday in Canberra.<\/p>\n

GWS recorded a one-point victory over the fast-finishing Saints<\/a>, who threatened to knock the undefeated Giants off their podium.<\/p>\n

The win was a lucky escape for the Giants, who will be without star defender Sam Taylor for at least a week after he was knocked unconscious in a scary collision with St Kilda skipper Jack Steele<\/a> in the first term.<\/p>\n

In terrifying scenes, Taylor was immediately stretchered off as blood could be seen pouring from his face.\ufeff<\/p>\n

But in good news, he was sent to hospital where he was thankfully cleared of any "major concerns" according to the club.<\/p>\n

A smiling Taylor was captured in Canberra Hospital post-match.<\/p>\n

Despite the positive update, they'll be without him against Carlton next week, with fears also arising for star midfielder Stephen Coniglio, who suffered a knee injury in the final term.<\/p>\n

Coniglio was tackled \ufeffby Saint Mitch Owens, screaming in pain before he was helped by trainers off the ground.<\/p>\n

It wasn't all smiles during the final term, as St Kilda piled on the last six majors to get within a point before the siren sounded and saved the Giants' day.\ufeff<\/p>\n

James Peatling was the Giants hero, subbed on for Taylor in the first quarter, going on to mark a defensive ball to secure their fifth win on the trot.\ufeff<\/p>\n

For the Saints, Max King\ufeff also suffered a knee injury.<\/p>\n
